Just the facts, m’am. If the video doesn’t do it for you, there is the Issuu document below it, the Scribd version below it, and the Zoho doc below that!
Here’s the video version of our latest presentation. We plan to continue making simple video presentations, certain in the knowledge that YouTube’s search engine is a useful thing to rank on, and that watching quick video is more fun than reading a couple of paragraphs. Kind of fun to make, too.

We made a little presentation highlighting a few recent web design clients In St Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area, converted it to video and uploaded it to our YouTube channel. Making video and other presentations is a little time-consuming, but embedding them into Wordpress web sites is just so quick & easy that we feel it is a good investment. Any document can be turned into a scrolling pdf and embedded; any audio or video presentation can hosted on any number of sites and embedded & shared faster than we can blog about it.

I think this social media / web design presentation works best as a video, mostly because I like this podsafe music from Robin Stine called “Sweet Blossom”.
I am reminded that YouTube has the world’s second largest search engine tied to it, and that those who wish to achieve search engine optimization success might do well to use this resource to their advantage.

Scary music aside, this is a pretty great presentation… I guess the scary music is aimed at people who aren’t using social media in conjunction with web design to market their businesses.
The good news is that the Tampa-St Pete Area is a respectable #16 nationally in broadband internet penetration.
The better news for companies thinking about entering the social media marketing arena is that an informal comparison of local use of media such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Craigslist, etc. with other cities o comparable size shows that Tampa-St Petersburg has a long way to go to catch up with national trends– so there is still room for a company to brand itself socially before the field is too crowded.
The timed to start is last week. If last week is all booked up, call Seven North today.

You can upload various kinds of text documents including pdf s to Scribd, which can then be made public or kept private. We made this presentation in Illustrator and converted it to a pdf. Kind of like a film strip, and the reproduction is quite acceptable. Seven North Web

Slideshare isn’t the only presentation web app out there, but it was one of the first. We plan on using several services in order to divine their respective strengths.
This little presentation is just a distillation of our core message: Most small businesses will greatly benefit by starting fresh with an open source Wordpress social media hub website for reasons of cost, ease of use, and search engine optimization. Just below this text you’ll find a great way to enhance and add interest to your website posts- an embedded video, presentation, pdf file or audio. In this case I have enhanced this web page with an embedded presentation from Slideshare, made by Bryan Jones, but it could just as well be a video from YouTube, Vimeo or qany one of many video hosts, or a document from Scribd, a podcast segment– Wordpress makes embedding multimedia very simple.
When you embed, you are giving the appearance that the media is actually present on your site, when in reality it is safely hosted somewhere else, and on someone else’s nickel, too. Hosts and content makers are happy to have you distribute their work when you give them credit and a link or two (free advertising, distribution, “Google Juice”, and an implied or explicit endorsement), so most bloggers have an enormous amount of interesting multimedia content with which to enhance their web sites and provide persuasive evidence for their claims.
