WordPress Site Setup: Web Design With WordPress for Social Media Success in St Petersburg,Tampa Bay,Florida

Your WordPress site will be the center of your social media web marketing campaign.

What we need to do before we begin:

  1. Save all content (pictures, text, etc.) from your current site, if you have one.
  2. Establish a 5 or 10 dollar a month Linux hosting account with a hosting provider like GoDaddy.com.  We can do this for you if you like.
  3. Point your current domain name [yourbusinessnamehere.com] to the new hosting account– this will require: a) the domain name’s owner’s presence (you, presumably) and b) access to your current hosting account, and c) access to your new hosting account. In other words, you will need a computer and quite possibly a phone if you need to call your accounts for assistance. We can help you, or we can do this for you
  4. –OR– grab a new domain name. We casn help you with this.
  5. Establish a webmail email account to which we can have initial and temporary access. Later you can change your password. We’ll be happy to do this for you.

Our Personal Consults:

  1. Initial design consult– bring your ideas and a notebook
  2. Coaching session 1– how to add new content (posts and pages), handle dialog with users and modify existing content
  3. Coaching session 2– how to add categories, themes, plugins, etc., and follow-up questions

Additional services:

  • Prepping photos for web use: $2.50 per photo, with excellent volume discounts available
  • Consultation on blogging skills, maximizing your SEO, community and linkbuilding through free Web2.0 services: $50hr, 1 hr minimum. Consultation held at Seven North’s office.

Why You Should Use a Simple WordPress CMS to Power Your Site

  • It’s free, open source and constantly updated for features and security.
  • Hundreds of looks (via themes) for free.
  • Hundreds of extra functions (via plugins) for free.
  • No more webmasters– no more maintenance fees.
  • Edit, add text and pictures from any one’s computer anywhere and anytime with your web browser– or even your cellphone – No need for web design software (Dreamweaver, et al) or FTP clients.
  • Easy to add video clips, audio, pictures, graphics, etc.
  • Any user can, with 90 minutes or less of easy instruction, take total control.
  • Vastly superior Search Engine Optimization built into the structure (Google loves dynamic blog-architecture sites)– people can find you easily and incidentally.
  • Menus, archives, hierarchal page organization and search are all built in.
  • Discussion-participation (comments), RSS feeds, blogroll and links are automated – make your site interesting and encourage community-building and frequent visits to your site.
  • Huge user-base for community-based support.

If at some later date you decide to graduate to a full fledged CMS like Drupal or Joomla, you will be ready by virtue of your experience with WordPress to take full advantage of those more complex and capable applications’ features.
